Just call us when your new software or updates arrive and we’ll make sure everything is installed and working correctly.  This can be especially handy if you have programs that don’t like to “peacefully coexist” with other programs on your system. If you would like, we’ll even coordinate ordering your software and hardware for you and have it shipped directly to your office.


Setting Up and Maintaining your Office Network:

Vangor Computer Technologies can help you determine what kind of network would work best in your office and then install and maintain it.  This includes making sure your Network is equipped with an anti-virus software package and the latest virus definitions and that your data is being backed up nightly.


Virtual Private Network with Remote Office:

Virtual Private Networks or VPN’s allow you to connect to a remote network from across the Internet in a secure fashion.  For example, if you have a VPN setup on your office network and your home computer has Internet access, you can connect to the office network with your home computer.  This will allow you to access files, applications, and printers in your office from your home computer.  This is great for working at home or for when you forget to bring a particular document or spreadsheet home with you.  You can connect to the office network and retrieve the file without having to drive back into the office.  VPN’s can also connect branch offices to a main office.  Because VPN’s use existing connections, they are a low-cost alternative to leased lines.


Conference Support:

Vangor Computer Technologies is experienced with supplying personalized, on-site, broad-based computer support for your organization’s conference.  We come equipped to handle virtually any PC-related or network-related problem.  We can setup and maintain computers in your conference registration booth.  Hotel Internet connections in conference areas can range from $150 to $350 or more per computer per day.  We can setup your computers to share a single Internet connection so you only have to pay for one Internet connection charge.  We can even setup your computers to share a single dial-up connection among multiple computers to save even more money.  After the registration booth is setup, we’ll keep an eye on it and make sure that the equipment continues to run smoothly throughout the registration process.

If your presenter is having problems getting their equipment to work properly, we can help.  Sometimes the presenter can’t get their laptop to interface properly with the hotel’s AV equipment such as an LCD overhead projector.  Sometimes the presenter has problems with their own equipment like a virus, a corrupted program, or a faulty CD-ROM drive.  We come equipped to handle almost any emergency.  In a pinch, we can even swap out the presenter’s laptop with one of our own to make sure that the presenter can start on time.

Hotel IT support can be very costly.  Our rates are very reasonable.  We charge $85 per hour and that includes two technicians, not just one.  We only bill for the hours we work.  We require that our room and meals be covered.  We don’t charge for travel, but there may be a minimum number of billable hours required depending on the distance traveled and the length of the conference.  Contact us to tailor a package that meets your conference support needs.   Hotel IT support isn’t always available 24 hours a day.  We can provide around-the-clock coverage.  If you have a technical problem that needs to be addressed at 1:00 AM, we’ll be there.  Hiring Vangor Computer Technologies to provide support for your conference is like having an insurance policy.


Remote Computer Support:

We can provide long distance computer support with the use of Terminal Services, RealVNC, or other remote access software.  Use of this software speeds up our response time for many of our local customers as well.  It allows us to connect to your computer right away and troubleshoot issues now instead of scheduling an appointment for later.


Programming:

Microsoft Access/Microsoft Office Visual Basic programming.  We can design and write custom programs to specifically suit your business needs.  We also support the maintenance of existing SQL Server databases.

Web Site Setup/Maintenance:

We can help you setup and host your own website and/or perform updates to an existing website.  We really like using DotNetNuke which is a free portal framework that supports content-managed websites that have features like forums, blogs, enewsletters, calendars, photo galleries, etc.  Do you need an Intranet for staff or board members?  DotNetNuke is great for that, too.

Work Logs:

Vangor Technologies provides all clients complete documentation of all work performed for your company.  While we work, we keep detailed notes about everything we’ve done.  With each invoice, we provide you with a copy of this “Work Log” so that you are always “up to speed.”  
We feel that communication is the key to our business and we will always do our best to make sure that you understand the “hows” and “whys” of everything that is going on with your computer.  It is also valuable to you company should you choose to work with another computer company.  These Work Logs are also beneficial in that they help us to troubleshoot problems much faster.  Many times we will run into the same or similar problem on different locations.  Because we take detailed notes, it’s easy to “search” for the incident in another Log and find the solution.  We don’t have to “reinvent the wheel” each time a problem arises.
