This is a nonprofit, grant making organization that supports the non-profit organizations in the Sarasota County area.

We first started performing IT-related work for the Foundation back in May 1998.  Since that time we've them grow from a 6-node workgroup to a sophisticated network with over 50 nodes, 9 servers, and 2 linked offices.  In the early days, they took turns dialing into the Internet because each modem shared the same phone number.  Now they use a dedicated half-T1 connection to the Internet and host their own web and email servers.

The Foundation moved into its own building August 2004.  While the building was being built during the 2003 - 2004 time period, we helped the Foundation research, select, and oversee the installation and integration of several subsystems including data and phone cable, phone system, security system, and AV system.  When the time to move actually arrived, we moved the IT-related equipment from the old location to the new building and got it up and running.

The Nonprofit Resource Center also moved into the new building.  They had formerly been a division of SCOPE, but now they became an official program of the Foundation.  We integrated them into the Foundation's IT Infrastructure.

The first floor of the new building is made up of meeting rooms with advanced multimedia presentation capabilities.  As part of our services to the Foundation, we provide AV setup and support for events with multimedia requirements.

Our services for the Foundation also include ongoing maintenance, configuration changes, and upgrades for the following applications, equipment, and subsystems:

• IIS Server (web server)

• Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows 2003 Servers

• Terminal Services

• FIMS Server (Progress Database Engine)

• Vertical TeleVantage Phone System (Windows 2000 Server-based)(VoIP)

• Video Surveillance Security Server (Windows XP-based)

• Network Infrastructure including routers, switches, wireless network, T1 connection, etc.

• Workstations (Windows 2000 Pro, XP Pro)

• SQL Server

• Carrier Air Conditioner Computer Interface (ComfortView 3.0)

• Content-Managed Web Site via DotNetNuke

We are currently working on several dozen large scale projects to improve their infrastructure in order to better server their donors and customer base.  Because of the scale of the projects, we have had to move the primary support of most of our customer base to Todd Liljenberg of TechOne.  This was a very hard thing to do since most of our customers were like family.  However, Todd has continued supporting these customers with a very high level of customer service and has been able to maintain the family-like relationship.  If there's an emergency and Todd is unavailable, we're still here to "pinch hit" for Todd.
